Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson says Chelsea have

been handed the advantage in the title race.

The Red Devils conceded two precious Barclays Premier League points after a goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Sunday.

United, without the injured Wayne Rooney, relied on Dimitar Berbatov in attack but the best two chances of the match fell to Antonio Valencia in the first half.

Liverpool face anxious wait over Torres

Liverpool must wait to learn the full extent of striker Fernando Torres' knee injury after he was examined by

a specialist.

The Spain international missed Sunday's goalless draw at home to Fulham - a result which caused a huge dent in Liverpool's top-four aspirations - to travel to Spain for an assessment.

He received some treatment on Monday but will be reassessed later in the week when the specialist will hopefully have a better idea of how the problem is likely to affect the rest of Torres' season

Hunt to go under knife

Hull City midfielder Stephen Hunt is set to undergo a foot operation to find out if he can play again this season.

The Irishman has been struggling with the problem since February and his presence has been sorely missed by the relegation-threatened Tigers.

Managerial consultant Iain Dowie has decided to send Hunt for surgery to find out the extent of the injury with reports suggesting he may have played his last match of the season.
