The Spain international missed Sunday's goalless draw at home to Fulham - a result which caused a huge dent in Liverpool's top-four aspirations - to travel to Spain for an assessment.

He received some treatment on Monday but will be reassessed later in the week when the specialist will hopefully have a better idea of how the problem is likely to affect the rest of Torres' season
